Question of the Week

"What is the future of eduation in Illinois?"

1 comment:

  1. Budget cuts, larger class sizes, and cut enrichment programs – unfortunately this is becoming a reality for education in Illinois. Children are seeing that education is not the priority in this state. How can we insure that they are vested in their education if our leaders aren’t doing the things necessary to provide a quality education.
We need leaders in the government that are going to have the courage to make the tough decisions on how to properly fund education – which could include tax increases. We need parents, teachers and the community to reach out to those elected officials and tell them exactly what they need in the schools. We need businesses to take more of a role in education – by donating resources, providing professional development for teachers, and giving kids opportunities to participate in hands-on learning experiences and internships.
Education in this state is not going to fix itself. Every person in our state is affected by poor quality schools, and we all need to take responsibility to teach our children.
